Randy Travis
The Scoop: Witness the ever-popular country crooner sing most of his 16 No. 1 hits, from country and western to "new traditionalist" and even some gospel. Touring on his recently released greatest hits album, you're sure to hear at least one tune you love. Venue: Golden Nugget. Show times: Dec. 3-5. Call for times. Tickets: $65, $85. Reservations: (800) 634-3454 or (702) 385-7111.
The Scintas
The Scoop: The Partridge Family they're not. But the Scintas put on a full-scale production, complete with comedy and music in their own showroom. It's good, clean family fun at its finest. Venue: Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. Show times: Friday-Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. (Dark Thursday.) Tickets: $59.95. Reservations: Recommended. (702) 777-7776.
Skintight
The Scoop: Billed as "heart-pounding passion for adults," this show was featured in E!'s "Nearly Famous 2: More Vegas Showgirls." The late-night revue features lead singer Darryl Ross and is chock-full of racy, erotic numbers performed by topless dancers. Definitely not for the prudish. Venue: Harrah's Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. Show times: Monday-Wednesday and Saturday, 10:30 p.m.; Sunday, 7:30-and 10:30 p.m.; Friday, 10 p.m. and midnight. (Dark Thursday.) Tickets: $49.95. Reservations: Recommended. (800) 392-9002, ext. 5222. Note: Ages 18 and up only. A dinner combo is available.
Tribute to Frank, Sammy, Joey and Dean
The Scoop: It wouldn't be Vegas without the Rat Pack. This show pays homage to the Strip's top entertainers of a bygone age with outstanding vocalists, a 13-piece band and even a few laughs. Ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby. But this enjoyable show comes close. Venue: Star Theatre at The Greek Isles Hotel & Casino. Show times: Daily, 7 p.m. (Dark Friday.) Tickets: Show only, $39.95; dinner and show, $49.95. Reservations: Suggested. (800) 633-1777 or (702) 952-8000. Note: Ages 5 and up only.
Viva Las Vegas
The Scoop: The longest-running daytime show features singing, dancing, comedy and novelty acts that embody the city's show biz past. Now in its 11th year. Venue: Stratosphere Las Vegas. Show times: Daily, 2- and 4 p.m. (Dark Sunday.) Tickets: $16.85. Reservations: (800) 998-6937. Note: Ages 5 and up only.
We Will Rock You
The Scoop: Opening just this August, the musical inspired by 25 songs by Queen takes the audience on a trip to the future. It's a desolate time, where individual thought is squashed --that is, until Galileo, a "little silhouetto of a man," finds a magical guitar that helps him rev things up a bit. Venue: Le Theatre Des Arts at Paris Las Vegas. Show times: Monday and Friday, 9 p.m.; Tuesday-Wednesday and Saturday, 7- and 10-30 p.m.; Sunday, 5- and 9 p.m. (Dark Thursday.) Tickets: $80.50, $97, $113.50. Reservations: (877) 374-7469 or (702) 946-4567. Note; Ages 6 and up only.
Zumanity--Another Side of Cirque Du Soleil
The Scoop: This isn't your father's Barnum and Bailey, my friend. Produced by Cirque du Soleil, the show features animalistic humans (or are they humanistic animals?) in a 90-minute "encounter." While the setting is new and unique, the production is full of Cirque's trademark acrobatics, physical humor and fantastic costumes. Venue: Zumanity Theatre at New York-New York Hotel and Casino. Show times: Friday-Tuesday, 7:30- and 10:30 p.m. (The show will be closed Dec. 1-16.) Tickets: $65-$125. Reservations: Suggested. (866) 606-7111 or (702) 740-6815. Note: Ages 18 and up only.
