Las Vegas review: the 2004 Aqua Show returns to Mandalay Bay
Pool & Spa News, Dec 12, 2003 by Margi Millunzi
Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Convention Center will lay out its welcome mat for the 2004 Aqua Show, scheduled for Jan. 6-8.
Professionals from the spa, pool and casual furniture industries will have an opportunity to take classes, socialize, and interact with some 350 exhibitors expected to be at the event, according to Stan Chambers, show manager.
"The whole idea is that [attendees] will walk out Of the show better businesspeople than when they walked in," he says. "We try to combine learning, business and enjoyment in the two to four days that they are at the show."
Once again, the show has teamed with the Casual Furniture Retailers Association, which will be holding a meeting at Mandalay Bay, too. CFRA attendees will participate in Aqua seminars and have access to the show floor.
As part of its educational offerings, the conference is conducting several full-day, pre-show workshops. Highlights include a sales day with Ray Leone, president of Leone Resource Group in Charleston, S.C., and author of Success Secrets of the Sales Funnel.
Technical courses will be part of this year's educational program as well. "We are trying to provide a broader base of education," Chambers says. "We want to create more opportunities for people to develop their technical skills as well as their business skills."
