Hot stuff: hot tub manufacturers rolled out a raft of new products at the International Pool & Spa Expo. Here's an overview of what's available and what to watch for to help you plan for the coming year

Also new is synthetic side skirting. "It's good for the environment, and the maintenance required is a lot less," Wilkerson says. "It will also last longer."

In addition, the company is introducing an integrated cover lift that is much easier to operate. Finally, the ABS pan, a plastic panel that prevents groundwater seepage, now is standard on Sundance and Sweetwater model spas.

Sunrise Spas:

Sunrise Spas of Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, is introducing an "in-flow" design, billed as "the next step in spa technology." The design includes the company's body-form seating and 37 powerful jets. A large, grated skimming surface and self-stabilizing reservoir maintain water levels. The design is available for all applications, according to company literature.
