Get Hands-on Experience on Capitol Hill. Each summer, the Blair Collings Internship program provides an opportunity for the child or grandchild of a dealer-owner or employee of a NLBMDA member to work at the NLBMDA headquarters in Washington, D.C., for six weeks beginning in June.

Through the Blair Collings program, NLBMDA exposes its interns to a number of government affairs areas and issues by having him or her attend industry-related coalition meetings, observe how the U.S. Congress operates by working with NLBMDA's lobbyist, write issue summaries, and conduct research pertinent to association activities with Congress and federal agencies.

Applications for the internship must be received by Feb. 1, 2005, to be considered for next summer. Applicants must be at least 17 years old but not more than 24 years old, on or before June 1 of the year of the internship. A stipend of $2,500 is paid to the intern during the course of the internship to offset expenses. For more information or to receive an application package, please contact Pat Skinner, NLBMDA manager of member programs, at 800.634.8645 or pat@dealer.org.
