LACN inducts officers, distributes awards

During its annual convention in San Francisco, Nov. 4-6, the Lumber Association of California and Nevada (LACN) inducted its new officers: Greg Moss of Moss Lumber Co. in Redding, Calif., is the new president; first vice president is Jim Taft of Ganahl Lumber Co. in Anaheim, Calif.; Rick Roberts of Sunnyvale Lumber in Sunnyvale, Calif., will serve as second vice president; associate vice president is Tom Von Moos of Western Woods in Chico, Calif.; and Milton Johnson, of Home Lumber Co. in San Bernardino, Calif., is the new treasurer.

Also during the event, Larry McFadden was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. McFadden is retired from Fairfax Lumber in California and was active in the industry and his community, including serving as NLBMDA chair in 1998, president of the Lumber Merchants Association, and chairing the Marin County (Calif.) Economic Commission.

Rex Klopfer, commodity lumber product manager for Ganahl Lumber Co., was honored with the President's Award, which recognizes outstanding individual leadership. LACN awarded Associate of the Year, which recognizes individuals or companies that have provided outstanding service to the association over the past year, to Kelly Lyon, account manager with Capital in Chino, Calif.
