BMHC keeps rolling
Prosales, Jan, 2005
Already coming off of a second quarter that saw its most lucrative financial performance to date, San Francisco-based pro dealer and construction services firm Building Materials Holding Corp. (BMHC) again reported record-breaking quarterly financial gains in October 2004, posting $591.5 million in sales during the 2004 third quarter. On pace to hit the $2 billion annual gross sales mark for the first time, BMHC reported net income of $18.1 million for the third quarter, more than doubling last year's third-quarter income mark of $7.9 million. For the nine months ending Sept. 30, sales increased 56 percent to $1.55 billion, compared to $995 million for the same period in 2003.
"We are delighted to have achieved two consecutive record-setting quarters in terms of sales and profitability and to have set new records in year-to-date sales and net income," said BMHC chairman and CEO Robert Mellor in a statement. "Our results reflect the high quality work and important contributions made by every individual throughout our organization, [and] we continue to capitalize on opportunities and trends in the robust home building markets we serve, as evidenced by the strong sales and operating income at both BMC West and BMC Construction."
Founded in 1987, BMHC (www.bmhc.com) provides construction services, building products, and manufactured building components to national, regional, and local home builders.
