Hylbert receives Spirit of Life award
Prosales, Feb, 2005
After spending his entire career in the building materials industry, Paul Hylbert, president and CEO of Redmond, Wash.-based Lanoga Corp., will be honored with the Spirit of Life award in recognition of his contributions to both his community and profession. The award will be presented by the Hardware/Home Improvement Industry (H/HI) for City of Hope on May 18. Hylbert has donated his time and efforts to several organizations, including City of Hope, the Homebuilding Community Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity, among many others. "Having been a part of our industry involvement with City of Hope since the late 1970s, and having seen the great work done by the City of Hope professionals to find cures and treatments for cancer and other life-threatening diseases, I am pleased and proud to be a partner in the 2005 Spirit of Life campaign," Hylbert said in an announcement.
Raising close to $131 million over the past two decades, H/HI has been a major player with City of Hope (www.cityofhope.org), a cancer, diabetes, and HIV/AIDS research and treatment facility. It was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as "one of America's best medical centers for cancer treatment."
Lanoga Corp. (www.lanoga.com), which is celebrating its 105th anniversary this year, operates 336 lumberyards, component plants, and distribution centers through five divisions in 23 states.
