Builders FirstSource to open new Florida facility

Prosales, April, 2004

Builders FirstSource is building a new facility in St. Lucie County, Fla., that is scheduled to open this summer. The 23-acre facility, which will include 125,000 square feet under roof, will open as a distribution center and rebar fabrication operation and will eventually serve as a truss plant, as well. "The St. Lucie County area has witnessed strong housing growth, which we expect to continue," BFS president and CEO Floyd Sherman said in an announcement. "This new location represents an opportunity to grow our business organically in a state where we have enjoyed considerable success."

Builders FirstSource (www.builders firstsource.com) is headquartered in Dallas and operates 83 manufacturing facilities and 60 distribution centers in 11 states.
