BMHC adds plumbing installation services through acquisition

Prosales, June, 2005

San Francisco--based building materials supplier Building Materials Holding Corp. (BMHC), through its wholly owned subsidiary BMC Construction, has acquired a majority interest in Mesa, Ariz.--based Riggs Plumbing, which provides turnkey rough and finish plumbing to large-volume builders in Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz., BMHC says. Riggs will operate as a division of BMC Construction in Arizona. BMC Construction may acquire the additional interest of Riggs from minority shareholders as part of their contractual right, and will pay for the transaction in cash in addition to the assumption of debt.

BMHC (www.bmhc.com) provides capital, management, and administrative service for its two subsidiaries, BMC West and BMC Construction. The 137-unit company had 2004 sales of $2.1 billion.
