Builders supply celebrates 100 years

Builders Supply Co. of Petersburg, based in Petersburg, Va., celebrated its 100th anniversary in June. The oldest lumber and building materials supplier in the area, Builders Supply was founded in 1903. The company has weathered a number of set-backs over the years, including a flood in the 1980s, a tornado in 1993, and a warehouse fire last fall; however, the dealer is prepared to keep growing and building in the years ahead.

"This is an exciting time for us right now," president John VanLandingham Jr. said in a press release. "Our centennial anniversary gives us an opportunity to look back over the years and see how much we've grown, yet it also sets the stage for preparing for the next 100 years."
