Stock promotes Joe Appelmann

Building materials supplier Stock Building Supply announced the promotion of Joe Appelmann from vice president, West Division operations, to senior vice president of logistics. Appelmann, who joined Stock as corporate controller in 1988, will oversee strategic vendor program development, internal distribution center network development/ oversight, transportation management, and indirect spending initiatives. "Joe has tremendous experience in strategically reorganizing our operations for long-term growth," said Fenton Hord, president and CEO, in a recent statement. "He will continue to develop long-term divisional strategy encompassing direction, product and service offerings, associate development and growth plans, as well as to develop the operating plan and related financial targets."
