dan flavin: a retrospective

More than 50 installations will be on display in the first comprehensive exhibition of Dan Flavin's 35-year career. The artist pursued the possibilities of off-the-shelf fluorescent light fixtures as art. His architectural installations and sculptural pieces range in scope from startlingly simple to complex experiments with light, color, and space. During the post-World War II building boom, Miami-Dade and Broward Counties embraced mid-century Modern architecture.
