A to zinc

Residential Architect, August, 2002 by Nigel F. Maynard

Rheinzink is a durable, low-maintenance roofing and wall-cladding material made of zinc, copper, and titanium. City Architecture uses it for custom interior applications but also specs it on the canopies of contemporary townhouse projects. "It's a great metal because it's real dull and dark but finishes to a great patina," says Volpe.

It's offered in a bright or blue-gray preweathered format and in various styles, including corrugated and perforated panels, tiles, sheets, and rolls. Rheinzink, 604.291.8171; www.rheinzink.com.
