Fasteners - New Products
Tools of the Trade, March-April, 2004
Designed specifically for more corrosive pressure treated lumber with ACQ and appropriate for use in all pressure treated lumber situations, Thickcoat Galvanized fasteners feature 2 1/2 times more zinc than traditional electroplated fasteners, combined with a chromate coating for superior corrosion resistance, says the maker. The company says that the fasteners have a denser, more uniform coating of zinc than hot-dipped fasteners and independent salt-spray tests show that the fasteners corrode at about half the rate of hot-dipped fasteners in ACQ. The fasteners replace the company's existing electro-galvanized line, but the pricing will remain the same. * Stanley-Bostitch. 800-556-6696. www.bostitch.com. Circle #223.
