Designed for rugged conditions, the Nextel/Motorola i325 IS handset is approved for use around flammable gases and vapors, and it meets military specifications for resistance to blowing rain, dust, shock, vibration, high/low temperatures and pressure, solar radiation, humidity, and salt fog. The phone has Direct Talk, which allows users outside of Nextel coverage area to manually transfer to two-way radio-to-radio communication with up to a 6-mile range. The phone also is equipped with a color display, Java technology, and GPS.
