Policy Manager: Redback Networks - New Products
Telecommunications Americas, Oct, 2003
Today's mantra in the broadband access market is not just to simply reduce opex costs, but also find new sources of revenue-generating services. Redback is responding to this trend with its NetOp Policy Manager, a policy and service management software tool for broadband networks based on the RADIUS protocol. Leveraging the best attributes of its existing SMS and SmartEdge platforms, the product can work over any residential or business broadband access mechanism, including DSL, WiFi, cable, leased lines, ATM/frame relay and Ethernet. The NetOp Policy Manager is built around three primary components: NetOp Policy manager software with accompanying subscriber database, Redback SMS and/or SmartEdge network elements, and a web portal for subscriber access. All are available.
