Looking to provide a solution to allow local exchange carriers to deliver a wider array of broadband services over an IP connection, Pannaway Technologies has released its BAR (broadband aggregation router) for management and delivery of IP-based services over great distances with the use of traditional fiber optic cable. The QoS-based routing device, which is part of Pannaway's Service Convergence Network architecture, includes a Layer 3 feature set for optimal security and efficient packet routing. Deployed in the CO or remote terminal, the 1RU BAR enables the delivery of toll-quality voice calls, broadcast-quality video, and high-speed Internet access. With an IPv6-ready platform, the Gigabit Ethernet aggregator and internetworking switch also includes embedded web management for easy set-up and configuration.
