Harris & Harris Group, Inc. announced that it has invested $2 million in privately held NeoPhotonics as part of a venture financing of more than $40 million led by Oak Investment Partners and Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). The other largest investors in the round include Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), ATA Ventures, Rockport Capital Partners, Ventana Global Capital, Linkmore Limited and Alps Information Technology Fund.
NeoPhotonics recently introduced a new suite of optical components for access networks. The company is a developer and manufacturer of silica integrated optical modules and systems for telecom, datacom, FTTP, CATV and other markets.
