Fourteen scientific research results of the Eighth Electronic Research Institute of the Ministry of Information Industry recently passed ministry! province-level evaluation. Of the seven items of research results to be used on civilian products that passed the current evaluation, six items are meant to finalize design, while one is a technological evaluation.

Six items are leading China to advanced international level of similar products technologically. They include belt-shaped fiber optic cable for use in access networks, soft optic fiber cable production line, tightly-wrapped optic fiber production line, in-door fiber optic cable, and new-type stainless steel composite casing for optic fiber. Light, easy-breakout central steel-tube-type fiber optic cable is the first of its kind ever manufactured in China and fills a void in this area in China.
