Research results of MII's Eighth Electronic Research Institute pass evaluation

Fiber Optics Weekly Update, April 26, 2002

Fourteen scientific research results of the Eighth Electronic Research Institute of the Ministry of Information Industry recently passed ministry! province-level evaluation. Of the seven items of research results to be used on civilian products that passed the current evaluation, six items are meant to finalize design, while one is a technological evaluation.

Six items are leading China to advanced international level of similar products technologically. They include belt-shaped fiber optic cable for use in access networks, soft optic fiber cable production line, tightly-wrapped optic fiber production line, in-door fiber optic cable, and new-type stainless steel composite casing for optic fiber. Light, easy-breakout central steel-tube-type fiber optic cable is the first of its kind ever manufactured in China and fills a void in this area in China.
