AOMEMS intros 1x16 Optical Switch

Fiber Optics Weekly Update, May 30, 2003

AOMEMS, based in Irvine, CA, introduced a new product, the 1x16 Optical Switch, which is the market's lowest priced 1x16 optical switch based on the latest opto-mechanical technology. It is designed for optical network monitoring and test & measurement applications. In addition to its reduced prices, the new 1x16 Optical Switch from AOMEMS features greater repeatability, low insertion loss and low power consumption.

This switch can operate over the full wavelength range of 850 nanometers to 1610 nm, operate independent of signal transmission data rates and signal protocol and latch in place, which means it will remain functional during electrical brown-outs or blackouts. It also can be built with multimode fibers to reduce costs even more. For more information, see www.aomems.net.
