Axerra Networks introduces New Multiservice IP concentrators for metro networks

Fiber Optics Weekly Update, June 7, 2002

Axerra Networks, a developer of Multiservice over Internet Protocol (MSoIP) products, announced the addition of two new members to its line of AXN Multiservice IP Concentrators. The new AXN100 and AXN800 concentrators extend the benefits of Axerra's award-winning Multiservice over IP (MSoIP) technology to metropolitan area service providers and their customers. Both products empower incumbent carriers and next-generation service providers to offer both legacy and emerging IP services over IP Metro and Metro-Ethernet networks.

The AXN100 and AXN800 expand the capabilities of Axerra's existing family of Multiservice IP Concentrators to remote locations and smaller central office applications. Both products leverage the company's MSoIP technology, which enables metro providers to address multiple customers with a full range of multiservice voice and data capabilities. The AXN 100 Multiservice IP Concentrator is a small-footprint (1 rack unit) platform typically deployed as Customer-Located Equipment (CLE) at a remote site. The AXN800 furnishes a fully redundant, carrier-class architecture for service providers' smaller central offices and Points of Presence (PoPs).
