The decision to suspend operations is consistent with the current strategy of Walsin Lihwa, the Taiwan based parent company of VTR Optoelectronics. Walsin Lihwa has decided to place more emphasis on its business interests in mainland China and has been disappointed with the sluggish recovery of the telecommunications markets elsewhere.
