Fiberlogix unveils photosensitive fiber

Fiberlogix, a UK-based manufacturer of specialty fibers announced the availability of its high-performance photosensitive fiber, which is specifically designed to offer a very cost competitive solution to the FBG manufacturers. The two product lines launched are designed for Telecoms and Fiber Sensors markets.

These exhibit a controlled photosensitivity and low background noise level. The company uses its proprietary manufacturing process and the state of the art production facility to offer uniform and enhanced sensitivity. These fibers offer the ability of directly writing of FBGs without the use of Hydrogen loading. Due to its superior core/cladding concentricity it allows a high lot-to-lot uniformity and low splice loss with standard telecom fiber. Fiberlogix plans to bring these photosensitive fibers with Acrylate UV transparent and high operating temperature coating, which can withstand up to 200[degrees] C. FiberLogix is scheduled to bring to market a number of other specialty fibers that will lead th e industry price-performance matrix. Fiberlogix will be showcasing a number of specialty products at ECOC on booth number 156A in Hall C. The product portfolio includes: High NA, High Raman Gain, Highly Non-linear, Coupler fiber and fiber with special coatings.
