Telco Systems announced an agreement with Platt, a value-added distribution service company, in which Platt will market Telco Systems' Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) solution and triple play gateways to municipalities, utilities, and electrical contractors in 13 Western states.
Platt, founded in 1953 and headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, serves the municipal, utility, electrical construction, and other markets with a range of voice, data, electrical, and other products.
Dave Lee, Telco Systems' vice president of marketing, explained, "As a result of this agreement, Telco Systems will be able to leverage Platt's established relationships with municipalities, utilities, and electrical contractors serving new residential communities and office parks with Fiber-To-The-Home 'triple play' technology to deliver VoIP voice services, video and high-speed Internet access."

Telco Systems offers an end-to-end active Ethernet FTTH and FTTB (Fiber-to-the-Business) solution comprised of the company's family of carrier-class IP aggregation and core routing switching platforms and IP media gateways. The Telco System FTTH/FTTB end-to-end solution enables a service provider to connect end-users over fiber from their home or office throughout a community, metro area, campus environment, multi-dwelling unit, or multi-tenant unit to an IP backbone and to deliver VoIP Internet voice service, video, data, and broadband Internet access.
Currently, Telco Systems' EdgeGate CPE 282 integrated IP media gateway is being used in the nation's largest Active Ethernet FTTH deployment in the Grant County public utility district in Washington state. Telco Systems' EdgeGate CPE is also being used in FTTH networks serving the Washington state counties of Whatcom, Douglass, and Clallam. Earlier this month, Telco Systems introduced the EdgeGate CPE GW-482 VoIP Media Gateway to broaden its end-to-end FTTH triple-play solution to include independent telephone companies (ILECs) along with utilities and municipalities.
