Quake surpasses 100,000 chip shipments for 10Gbps Ethernet

Quake Technologies Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, is bringing 10Gbps network deployments to new levels by shipping its 100,000th unit of 10Gbps Ethernet (10GE) chips.

Quake offers a full range of 10Gbps Ethernet components that address the various 10Gbps Ethernet links in deployment. Quake has introduced three generations of 10GE physical layer chips (PHYs) to adapt to the changing 10GE market. The focus for the first generations of 10GE was performance and compliance to the industry standards. With the third generation of 10GE shipping, customers are looking for continued performance and compliance, but at best power and lowest price. Quake is continuing its market leadership with a product portfolio addressing these evolving needs.

10Gbps Ethernet is now deploying in data centers, corporate backbones, and metro area networks. Today, 10GE is primarily used for switch-to-switch connections.
