Avanex Corporation reported results for its first fiscal quarter ended September 30. First-quarter net revenues were $35.8 million, an increase of $3.9 million over the quarter ended June 30. Net revenues were $17.8 million higher than in the company's first quarter a year ago.
The company reported a net loss of $22.3 million, or $0.16 per share, for the quarter ended September 30, which includes a restructuring charge of $2.6 million, compared with a net loss of $21.6 million, or $0.15 per share, for the quarter ended June 30, which included a restructuring benefit of $4.8 million, and compared with a net loss of $27.9 million, or $0.26 per share, for the quarter ended September 30, 2003.
