ECI Telecom announced that the latest release of its Hi-FOCuS Multi-Service Access Gateway system has completed the Telcordia Technologies OSMINE processes, including TIRKS, LFACS, and NMA systems. Equipment manufacturers that offer network elements to carriers (ILECs) must verify that these products interoperate in a multi-vendor environment with the embedded base of operations systems. Telcordia's continuing support for next-generation access systems ensures that ECI's Hi-FOCuS systems can be seamlessly integrated with service providers that have deployed Telcordia Operating System Support (OSS's).
"The OSMINE process is a vital step for any equipment vendor planning to sell its products to large, incumbent service providers," said Dennis Tinley, vice president, Customer Solutions, Telcordia Technologies Inc. "By undertaking this work, ECI has demonstrated its commitment to the ILEC market to ensure that its Hi-FOCuS multi-service access platform are integrated into existing networks and Operations Support Systems."
ECI's Hi-FOCuS Multi-Service Access Gateway supports fiber and copper solutions in parallel in using both ATM and IP networks (Ethernet interfaces). This combination enhances the value of carriers' infrastructure to support robust, value-added services, including IP Video, Video Multicasting, High-Speed Internet, and Voice. This allows the smooth migration from ATM to IP/Ethernet architectures. As an environmentally hardened solution complying with all NEBS requirements, the Hi-FOCuS system is deployable in any location from non-environmentally controlled street-side cabinets to underground CEVs. Hi-FOCuS is the preferred solution of leading service providers worldwide with over 7 million lines shipped.
