"Through our relationship with Rogers Wireless, Summus is gaining a strong foothold on the fast-growing Canadian wireless market," said Gary Ban, CEO of Summus. "As we add wireless carriers to our ever-growing list of partners distributing our products, we secure opportunities for continued, on-going revenue growth."
Analysts estimate that 22.6 million Canadians will use wireless data by 2006. The Canadian wireless market is not as saturated as many global markets, so it has a large potential for growth. Currently, 40 percent of Canadians use a cell phone. Canadian wireless service revenue is expected to grow to C$10.8 billion in 2007, with non-voice services playing an increasingly larger role in the market, according to the Electronics Industry Market Research and Knowledge Network.
