With peak speeds of 2.4 Mbps and average speeds around 600 kbps, 1xEV-DO is the fastest, most cost-effective 3G data technology available. It gives users a wireless, broadband Internet experience with speeds exceeding 10 times dial-up. The ability to access the complete Internet anywhere within the Monet coverage area uniquely empowers customers with new ways to work, live and communicate, from accessing corporate databases to capturing the true potential of multi-media mobile messaging (MMS). Monet plans to deploy six additional EV-DO markets in the Midwest by the end of the year. The company will also upgrade its current 1xRTT markets.
Monet was the first US service provider to deploy a data-only lx network late last year in Fargo, ND and Sioux Falls, SD. The company offers its wireless Internet service to small to mid-sized markets with high Internet penetration, but with limited access to broadband.
