Funk Software announced the beta release of AdmitOne VPN Client for Pocket PC, software that lets handheld users establish a secure connection over a wireless link to the enterprise network. A trial copy of AdmitOne VPN Client for Pocket PC is available for download from www.funk.com.
AdmitOne VPN Client for Pocket PC implements IPsec and IKE (Internet Key Exchange) technologies to configure a secure end-to-end communications channel between a Pocket PC device and the corporate VPN server. The product fully protects the privacy of data being transmitted, and prevents the known security hazards of wireless communications including wireless eavesdropping and channel hijacking. The secure connection can be established over the Internet or within a corporation's wireless LAN.

AdmitOne VPN Client for Pocket PC is easily deployed across the enterprise -- with a simple installation process and tools which facilitate deployment across numerous devices -- and provides a high degree of configuration flexibility. It is designed for compatibility in a wide variety of network environments, and supports a number of VPN servers including those from Cisco, Nortel, and Check Point, and Pocket PC devices, including Compaq's iPAQ and Casio's Cassiopeia. AdmitOne's IPsec and IKE implementations fully conform to the latest RFCs for IPsec and IKE.
AdmitOne VPN Client for Pocket PC expands Funk Software's portfolio of access control and 802.1X security products, further strengthening the company's position in the network and wireless LAN security markets.
