IPWireless partners with Flextronics to develop system on a Chip for next-generation mobile broadband - Business - Brief Article

Flextronics Semiconductor will partner with IPWireless to develop and manufacture the IPWireless System on a Chip (SoC). IPWireless will accelerate demand for its mobile broadband technology by leveraging the SoC design created with Flextronics to deliver PCMCIA broadband modem cards for laptops and PDAs. The IPWireless SoC design will also enable lower-priced external modems and broadband gateways.

Currently, the IPWireless standards-based ASIC solution is utilized in external pocket-sized modems for networks being deployed around the world. IPWireless' technology is based on UMTS TD-CDMA (TDD) standards to support voice and data, the IPWireless Advanced 3G Broadband solution allows global operators to deliver through a single network wireless broadband services ranging all the way from mobile broadband to a small-office connectivity solution.
