Mobile Internet, The, June, 2003

Vicom announced that it has initiated a new high-speed wireless Internet service in the metropolitan Fargo, North Dakota-Moorhead, Minnesota market. Multib and Wireless will immediately begin serving residential and commercial customers in this trade area of 175,000 people with high-speed broadband services at speeds traditionally used only by larger corporate entities.

The service requires use of a very small receiving antenna, which will be offered as part of the service package. Additionally, the service is capable of interfacing with the very popular 802.11 wireless networking equipment sold by major retailers. Vicom also stated that additional major metropolitan markets are already being built for deployment this summer.
