Navini Networks launches new Ripwave base station - Products - Brief Article

Mobile Internet, The, June, 2003

Navini Networks announced the commercial availability of a new base station for its wide area wireless broadband solution. The new base station is lighter, smaller and more powerful, and will allow service providers to install systems more quickly. The Navini Ripwave "towertop" base station requires half the rack space than the earlier generation of wireless broadband base stations and is 70 percent lighter while at the same time increasing reliability.

As an added differentiator, the new Navini towertop requires less space on expensive tower real estate, requires far fewer cables and reduces power dissipation by more than 50 percent. The new base station from Navini will advance true zero-install, plug and play wide area wireless broadband with miles of range - capabilities pioneered by Navini - enabling service providers to create large "hot zones" of coverage.
