In connection with launching the self-pointing mobile high-speed Internet service, StarBand is also announcing the introduction of the StarBand 481 Residential service. This new offering provides residential customers satellite industry-leading upload speeds of 100Kbps, up to 500Kbps download speeds, connectivity with Windows, Mac, Unix, and Linux operating systems, and ten e-mail accounts.
The mobile solution offers high-speed Internet connectivity through the StarBand network using the C-COM-developed self-pointing iNetVu(TM) 750-antenna system. After arriving at a destination, the fully automated satellite dish pointing system deploys the antenna with a simple click of a button and automatically connects the user to the Internet within a matter of minutes.
StarBand President and CEO Zur Feldman comments, "this product demonstrates StarBand's commitment to delivering on our promise of providing high-speed Internet access to everyone, virtually everywhere. Now, our customers can travel across the country with their StarBand system, arrive at any destination and be connected to the Internet in just minutes. The mobile system, combined with our new StarBand 481 service--offering upload speeds at 100Kbps, provides the highest speeds and best value in the market today."
"We are pleased to have been selected by StarBand to become their solution provider using the iNetVu 750 Mobile antenna system," said Leslie Klein, President and CEO of C-COM Satellite Systems, Inc. "The iNetVu 750 mobile platform has been modified by C-COM to work efficiently and reliably with the StarBand service and is based on the same high quality precision technology deployed worldwide with other leading satellite service providers."
The StarBand self-pointing mobile Internet system pricing is suggested at $5,999.99 to $6,149.99 for a complete hardware package, with a monthly service fee as low as $54.99. The expansive StarBand dealer network will distribute this self-pointing mobile Internet solution. Professional installation is required.
