Mobile Internet, The, August, 2005

Brightpoint Inc. announced that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Skype Technologies S. A. ("Skype "), the Global Internet Telephony Company(TM), under which Brightpoint will act as an authorized distributor of Skype products and services.

Brightpoint will initially focus on promoting Skype products and Skype Premium Services to its independent agent/dealer channels, mass and specialty retailers (including university bookstores, hot spots, copy/shipping retailers, mall kiosks), and wireless network operator customers in the United States, Australia, the Philippines, India, and New Zealand.

This distribution agreement is the definitive binding agreement referred to in Brightpoint's June 9, 2005 announcement concerning its co-operation agreement with Skype.

"We are pleased to be moving forward in our relationship with Skype in providing Skype with distribution and other integrated services." stated Robert J. Laikin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brightpoint Inc. "We believe that our core competence and capabilities will provide Skype a compelling value proposition." Skype is the leading VoIP-category product worldwide, with more than 48 million registered users. Skype's free Internet telephony software allows free, unlimited Skype-to-Skype calls. Skype's Premium Services offer inexpensive, seamless connectivity to ordinary fixed and mobile telephones as well as advanced Internet telephony features.
