China Unicom to launch CDMA network in Macau

China Unicom is planning to commence CDMA network operations in Macau in October 2005. It has invested $30 million for the same. The company got a CDMA license from Development of Telecommunications and Information Technology in March 2005. According to industry sources, the company has completed installation of all the CDMA base stations and did trial operations in August 2005.

The company has decided to start providing the CDMA network services officially before the East Asia Games start in Macau in this October.
