Latest Play: New 2004-2005 chairman of the Broward Alliance
Background: Miami native and media veteran Greenberg spent 20 years working for Tribune Co., mostly at the Fort Lauderdale-based daily Sun-Sentinel newspaper. [He did a brief stint as vice president of circulation for the New York Daily News.] An active member of the Broward Alliance for six years, Greenberg replaces departing chairman Larry Behar as head of Broward County's public-private economic development partnership.
Ambition: Greenberg wants to further minority-owned business in Broward as well as develop leaders within the Broward Alliance. Recruiting more big corporate CEOs to the group will be a top priority. He also will be working with Miami-Dade County's The Beacon Council and the Palm Beach Business Development board to regionalize economic development plans while at the same time tailoring the county's Vision Broward plan. "It's important to me, personally, to attract the kind of businesses here that will be lock-step in unison with the quality of life that we have come to enjoy."
