Swab those decks - Hospitality - BioSafety USA - Brief Article
South Florida CEO, Jan, 2003 by Tina Wingate
Never let it be said that a dark cloud has no silver lining, at least for someone. Such is the case with the now infamous Norwalk-like virus that has beset more than two dozen cruise ships this year, sending passengers to the head with all kinds of gastrointestinal troubles. Coming to the rescue is Sunrise-based BioSafety USA, with its new disinfectant, Virkon, which apparently can stop the virus once and for all.
"Virkon kills 580 viruses, bacteria, fungi and spores." says Heinz J. Neidermaier, BioSafety's CEO. Besides, it is one of the few disinfectants that can be used on soft surfaces like carpets and upholstery without causing damage. So far some 60 vessels are using the product. "We are not a better Lysol," says BioSafety president Kenneth R Rush. "Were a new category of disinfectant." See you on the Lido deck.
