FLL concourse opens - Big Deals - Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport - Brief Article
South Florida CEO, Feb, 2003
* Two key parts of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport's 20-year, $1.2-billion expansion program are complete. The $83 million road interchange linking US-1 and I-595 to the terminal road-way has opened, as has the $53 million Concourse B. The concourse is the new terminal for Southwest Airlines, the airport's second-largest carrier behind Delta Airlines.
About 17 million passengers went through the airport in 2002, and the new expansion -- when complete -- will help it eventually handle 30 million passengers a year.
