Perry Ellis dives into swimwear with Jantzen - Big Deals

* Perry Ellis International Inc., a Miami-based apparel manufacturer, got into the swimwear business by acquiring assets of Jantzen Inc. for about $25 million from VF Corp., whose family of apparel brands includes the Lee and Wrangler jeans. Perry Ellis acquired all of Jantzens intellectual property and a limited amount of inventory for the 2003 season.
Portland, Oregon-based Jantzen makes casual sportswear for men and women, as well as swimsuits.
