South Florida movers. Some 74 people at 16 moving companies based here have been indicted on federal charges of fraud, extortion and money laundering. If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison and stiff fines.
County Commission. The Miami-Dade County Commission has dead-locked on its plan to create an Airport Authority--which would de-politicize the airport's multi-billion dollar expansion.
Florida International University. The school is under fire for allegations that fund-raising money was used to buy a new Corvette as a farewell gift for Anthony Cantanese, who recently stepped down as its president.
