A warming trend in executive education

South Florida CEO, July, 2005 by Jaime Hernandez

Executives who want an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management--ranked the No. 1 business school in the country by Business Week magazine--will no longer have to stock up on scarves, boots and ChapStick. Northwestern, which is based in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, Ill., has announced Kellogg will open a campus in Coral Gables this December. Classes are scheduled to begin in January, says Julie Cisek Jones, assistant dean and director of executive MBA programs at Kellogg.

Kellogg has campuses in Hong Kong and Frankfurt, Germany, besides its chilly Evanston home, and Cisek Jones says some Miami students will have the opportunity to study at the other campuses.

"This is the final piece of the puzzle as we put together the international footprint of the Kellogg School of Management," Cisek Jones says. "We spent several years doing market research, and after talking to alumni and our corporate partners, it became clear the optimal spot to put down roots would be the Miami area."
