Paxson sells station - Big Deals

* West Palm Beach-based Paxson Communications Corp. announced that Univision Communications will purchase KPXF, a California television station, for $25 million in cash. Paxson originally bought the station in January 1998 for $8 million, and it was recently appraised at $9.1 million -- making the sale price a 340-percent premium. The sale is expected to close by the end of the year.
