New member orientation

South Florida CEO, August, 2004

Builders Association of South Florida board members greeted new members at a reception on June 29 at BASF's headquarters in Miami Lakes. At the orientation, new members discussed their most important reasons for joining BASF. Networking opportunities for generating new business in their target markets was one of the top two motivations they cited. Favorable insurance rates for BASF members was the other main motivation mentioned by new members. BASF president-elect Rick Horton, of The Green Companies, also pointed out other BASF benefits, which include BASF's legislative advocacy for the industry in South Florida, social opportunities to enhance the camaraderie of the members and opportunities to give back to the community through such BASF activities as Habitat for Humanity and toy drives. Horton also emphasized the importance of the affiliation between BASF, the Florida Home Builders Association and the National Home Builders Association, which provides additional legislative, educational and consumer purchasing strength, and the opportunity to support the industry.
