Mars Bankruptcy - Big Deals: Following the Money

Music store chain Mars Music has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, securing a $60 million loan that will allow it to continue to operate while it reorganizes. The chain, based in Fort Lauderdale, is composed of musical equipment superstores that also offer guitar, drum and other music lessons to aspiring rock stars.
The privately owned company, which currently has 50 stores across the country, plans to close under-performing out-lets in preparation for the holiday shopping crunch.
