South Florida waterfront still hot and a baseball trade out west - Real Estate Home Sales

* Pinecrest: Bruce A. and Joyce P. Cheseny paid $2.2 million ($288 per square foot) for a five-bedroom house on a 1.2-acre interior lot at 6905 SW 101 St. in Pinecrest's Berk Estates. Sellers Gilberto and Maria Bertolussi paid $1.6 million in 1997 for the 8,231-square-foot house.
* Venetian Isles: A 4,984-square-foot home in the Venetian Isles on Biscayne Bay was sold to George Lindemann Jr. for $2.23 million ($466 per square foot). The house at 820 W. DiLido Drive in Miami Beach was built in 1 936 and last sold for $1.85 million in October 2001.
* North Bay Road: British Virgin Islands-based Versel Overseas Limited paid $2.6 million ($402 per square foot) for a 7,804-square-foot home overlooking Biscayne Bay, at 6440 N. Bay Rd. in Miami Beach. Sellers Robert J. and Mary Jane Souaid had paid $975,000 for the house in 1995.
* La Gorce Island: A five-bedroom, 8,346-square-foot bayfront house on Miami Beach's La Gorce Island sold for $3.4 95 million ($419 per square foot) to David A. and Marie Guez. Sellers Jose I. and Sheila Shulevitz purchased the 1951 house at 60 La Gorce Circle in 1988 for $1575 million.
* Fort Lauderdale: Cynthia and Terry Taylor (president of Fort Lauderdale-based Automotive Management Services) paid $1 0.065 million ($629 per square foot) for a 16,000 square-foot home at 6 Harborage Isle Drive in Fort Lauderdale. Wimbish-Riteway's Tim Elmes represented seller Ron Tutor (CEO of California-based Perini Construction Corp.), who paid $7.2 million in February 2001 to purchase the home out of receivership.
* West Broward: Detroit Tigers baseball player Dmitri Young has purchased retired baseball player Jose Canseco's Weston home, at 2823 Pine Lake Drive in the Windmill Ranch Estates development, for $1.55 million; Canseco paid $1.3 million for the house in late 2001. Canseco, meanwhile, purchased a 5,713square-foot house in Davies Buckrom Oak Farm from Romeo and Sylvie Hebert. Canseco paid $775,000 ($136 per square foot); they paid $614,000 for it in September 2000.
* Lake Worth: Delaware corporation Century Wines & Spirits (whose president is James V. Tigani Jr.) purchased a 7,733square-foot home at 940 N. Lake Way in Palm Beach for $7.87 million. Seller Susan Lehrman Blank (as trustee), received $953 per square foot for the house on Lake Worth. The house last sold in 1975 for $775,000.
* Palm Beach: Patrick S. Parker paid $5.51 million ($982 per square foot) for a 5,612 square-foot house on an interior lot at 160 Barton Ave. in Palm Beach. Sellers Christopher and Louise H.Lewinson had paid $1.45 million for the home in 1995.
