ESBIE to Supply Green Power to Allied Irish Banks
0 Comments | Renewable Energy Today, Dec 15, 2003
Dublin, Ireland-based energy supplier ESB Independent Energy (ESBIE) recently announced it has received a 1-million-pound (about $1.7-million) deal to supply green energy to more than 300 Allied Irish Banks (AIB) and First Trust Banks in the country.
According to ESBIE, the banks will receive power through the company's "resource brand" renewable energy service, which provides electricity generated from such sources as wind, hydro and biomass.
"The resource supply to [AIB] will contribute to a sustainable clean environment whilst achieving substantial savings for the customer," said ESBIE supply manager Patrick Eccles. "Renewable energy is good for both business and the environment."
