GE Energy Completes Acquisition of AstroPower

GE Energy has completed its acquisition of solar electric power product manufacturer AstroPower, Inc., which had filed a Chapter 11 petition for bankruptcy earlier this year
The move adds solar power to GE Energy's renewable energy mix, which currently includes wind and hydroelectricity.
The company will base its solar power operations in Delaware, and will keep most of AstroPower's former staff.
