China Plans Construction of New Geothermal Facility in Shandong

Chinese news service Xinhua recently reported that the government plans to construct a new 40-hectare geothermal research and development facility in Qihe county, Shandong Province.

According to Xinhua, the Shandong Provincial Geology and Mineral Resources Bureau plans to invest 180 million yuan (approximately $21.7 million) in construction of the new facility, which will feature a "sci-tech" park, a geothermal air-conditioner and rust proof tubing production center, a bathing and therapeutic center, an aquatic breeding center and a "green" farm product plantation.

Xinhua said sources noted that the Ministry of Land and Resources, the China Geological Survey Bureau and the Shandong provincial government have already approved the project.
