Silicon Valley Power (SVP) recently announced that California's Santa Clara University has begun participating in the company's renewable energy program, known as "Santa Clara Green Power."

According to SVP, the university will support renewable energy equivalent to half of the output of one large-scale wind turbine, or 1,608 megawatt-hours annually.

"We are excited by Santa Clara University's participation in Santa Clara Green Power as a half-turbine partner," said SVP Public Benefit Program manager Joyce Kinnear. "Once again, the university is demonstrating leadership in the Santa Clara community."
